How Quiet Was It?

How quiet was it before Eve?

That is the question I asked Scott last night. Poor guy came home last night to 6 little girls who had not reached their word quota for the day. This lasted all evening. So I had to ask him how quiet he thought it was at the beginning of time. Of course, he just laughed. He said that maybe Adam was so caught up with the idea of being" fruitful and multiplying", that he did not understand what was about to happen. Most of the time it will be just one of them feeling talkative, but not last night. Even A and P, whose language has yet to be understood, were talking nonstop. Don't get me wrong, we love to listen to their sweet voices. They crack us up all the time. But, when all 6 get chatty on the same night, well, that is something to blog about. Now I know why he likes golf so much. Yes, it is because he is athletic and likes competition but I think there's a bigger reason. QUIET! Everyone knows you can't talk on a golf course. It's just you and nature. Kind of like Adam had it, before he lost a rib.

I'm so proud of him. God knew what He was doing when he gave us 6 girls. No one could handle them better than Scott. Nothing rattles him, even last night. I hope his day is filled with peace and quiet, because his ears need a rest.

Things I Love

I love my girls. They do some "squirly" things. Here's some of my favorites:
-Mismatched shoes (with only one sock)
-How my two year old wears her underpants backwards just so she can see the picture of the princess
-The chubby legs of A and P
-The new way my 4yr old obsesses over her clothes and shoes and hair being just right (I've never had one that cared this much)
-How my two oldest interpret the phrase "Go outside and play." as "Take your book outside and read". I really do love that they enjoy reading. The books they pick show me their personalities.
-Every minute is new to M. She's the happiest person!
-My old wake up call from #4 would be "I'm hungry!" , my new wake up call is "Can we go swimming now?"
-Listening to P try to tell me something while A is trying to tell me what she thinks P is saying. Good thing God gave me 2 ears.
Wow! I love all the ages and stages that we are at right now. Our life is not perfect. We are just enjoying it!

Lots to talk about

I've got lots to talk about, but first things first. Had to send a cute video to mom while she is away. We miss you and hope you're getting lots of rest.

Secondly, I missed "Not Me Monday". Mostly because I was busy making even more "not me" moments. In my life there are so many of these moments daily, but here are a few recent ones:

It was not me that brought a port-a-potty to the park with me and let my 2yr old squat in front of strangers. Nope not me!
It was not me that left Okc on a trip with mom and forgot a map (that really wasn't me, it was her... but we made it...with a couple of turn-a-rounds).
I know it was not me that made two trips to Walmart no more than two hours apart. Why is it that all my vacations start with a trip (or two) to Walmart?
It was certainly not me who used a Braums paper sack to pack clothes in for my weekend away with mom, just because I refuse to wake up a sleeping baby (the suitcases are in P's room, so when mom got here on Saturday and P was still asleep I just grabbed a sack and off we went). I looked like pure hick!

Now that confession time is over, the third thing to share with you is some great pics from the park yesterday. Tiff and I spent two and a half hour there with the kids trying to use up all their energy and soak up some rays.

I love my sisters and brother, we have a blast together. I love my mom because we are so much alike and have to much fun together. I love my honey because he kept all six girls last weekend while mom and I went away. Wow!

Name It

How clever are you? Can you come up with a title for this adorable picture? Ok, maybe I am a little biased. Maybe this is just a cheap ploy on my part to share another cute pic with you. It's Friday, we have to do something fun. So send my your ideas and I'll share them on my blog for others to see just how quick witted you are. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Count your many blessings...

...Name them one by one, Count your many blessings, see what God has done.

Happy Birthday! Eleven years ago we became parents. This was only the beginning of the greatest times in our lives. Here are some new and old pic of squirl #1. She is my helper, my friend, my fashion designer, sometimes my gineau pig, my dreamer, my artist, my cook.....all that to say....we are so proud of her. Thank you Lord for my blessings. Today I will "count them one by one."

Thankful Thursday

So much to say thank you for, such as:

1. Sun is out today!

2. School is almost out.

3. Bryce is turning 11 tomorrow (I can't believe it!)

4. Quiet meal out with my boyfriend last night.

5. Greatest mom and mom-in-law a girl could have.

I am passing the "thankful baton". So what are you waiting for? Say thanks!

Priceless

Another rainy day. So....

One bottle of red nail polish = $4.00 ?
(really this bottle is so old I don't even remember how much it cost,
you know the kind that is chunky and thick instead of smooth)

5 sets of toes to paint = 20 min.

Time with my Squirls = Priceless

Not Me

The Not Me Monday was created by McMama at http://www.mycharmingkids.net/.
I love this idea. So, I'll play along. I did not find 6 frogs procreating in our pool this last week. I did not "lie" to my little ones and tell them the frogs were giving piggy-back rides. No, not me! I did not commit mass tadpole murder by shocking the pool--sorry animal lovers, it was not me. And I did not shamelessly jump all over the opportunity when mom stopped by and asked to take the squirls to Walmart. Even though, I avoid shopping with all of them at any cost. Nope! Not Me, Couldn't Be! Oh, and I did not celebrate when practice was cancelled (what is it like to be at home on a Monday night?) I guess the rain is good for something. Ok, enough confessions. Hope you join the Not Me's. It is very cleansing.

Rain, Rain Go Away

Raining here again. I'm not a big fan of the rain. Mostly because my little squirls can't go outside and use up energy. But, the rain has helped our little seeds to grow. About two weeks Scott seeded a portion of the back and front yard. Now we have the cutest little grass sprigs popping up. Here are some pics of Aylee and Piper "helping" daddy seed. Aylee can tell you from first hand experience, the seeds (and mud) do not taste good.
