Throw Off Your Complacency

Isaiah 32
9 Listen, you women who lie around in ease. Listen to me, you who are so smug.10 In a short time—just a little more than a year— you careless ones will suddenly begin to care. For your fruit crops will fail, and the harvest will never take place.11 Tremble, you women of ease; throw off your complacency.Strip off your pretty clothes, and put on burlap to show your grief.12 Beat your breasts in sorrow for your bountiful farms and your fruitful grapevines.13 For your land will be overgrown with thorns and briers. Your joyful homes and happy towns will be gone.
(New Living Translation)

Isaiah spoke these words of warning to awaken the nation of Israel and call them back to God's will.

These words could easily be spoken today. We as women (I am assuming that 99% of my readers are such) must stop being complacent about the direction our nation is going in and stand up for righteousness.

Some of you might think that you are not politically minded and therefore it is not your place to stand up. Others might consider this right or left debate. This is right vs. wrong. For to long our nation has inched away from God's will. It is time, no matter what "side" you fall on, for us all to get involved. We need to let those we have elected know that what they are doing is not right. If we fail to act, then the words of Isaiah will be true. Our "joyful homes and happy towns will be gone".

So you say, "What can I do?" Glad you asked. There are so many ways to get involved, but here are a few.

1. Pray. We need to pray for guidance for our leaders, forgiveness for our nation, and revival in the hearts of all Americans. Pray for the hearts of the next generation that they would be turned to Him.

2. Write. To your congressmen and senators. On your blog. This is your stage to spread the word, and light a fire in others.

3. Educate yourselves. First through scripture. Secondly, find out what is going on (tv, newspaper, magazines), weigh it against God's word, and be bold when the two do not line up. Do not sit back and idly think that all you hear is truth. Go find the truth!

4. Encourage others. Invite all those around you to follow you. Teach your children about their American heritage so that they may lead the next generation.

5.July 4th is the second Tea Party. Not sure what I am talking about? Log on here for more info http://www.reteaparty.com/.

Now is the time for us to make our voices heard. We are a nation "of the people, by the people". That is how our fore fathers intended it. We have gone so far away from their intentions. So let all those in office who have lost touch with the people see that we are ready for leaders who know how our nation began.

Let's stand up together!
